About the Event
With multiple ECMA and Music Nova Scotia award nominations since her return to music in 2020, she is making a name for herself in the East Coast music scene and beyond. Her latest album 'Every Season' (Sept 30, 2022) is her most confident, self-assured, and emotionally compelling work to date. It is also up for the 2023 ECMA ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Folk Recording of the Year’.Kristen’s earthy introspective folk/pop songs have the warmth of a golden sunset. With intricate elements, her songs embrace life’s challenges and quiet moments of beauty. Gentle arrangements, haunting harmonies, and insightful messages make her the perfect soundtrack to ease your melancholy.
Conjuring modern singer-songwriters like Sturgill Simpson and Jason Isbell, as well as outlaw heroes like Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard, Cameron Nickerson’s songs are both poetic and purposeful. His music is also heavily personal – sometimes deceivingly so. His debut album, Detours, was released in January 2018, receiving Country Album of the Year nominations at both the ECMA Awards (2019) and NSMW Awards (2018). Walking a fine line between crisis and catharsis, Nickerson returns this year, with the long-awaited sophomore album, Submission.
