Two exciting days of Flamenco Dance at the Osprey!
Originally from Spain, Maria Osende was trained in ballet and danced with the National Ballet of Spain. After a successful career in ballet, Maria began to work in flamenco. She is the founder, artistic director and principal dancer with Maria Osende Flamenco Company of Halifax.

Flamenco Dance Workshop – July 13, 7:00 PM, Osprey Theatre
Maria Osende presents a public workshop to learn basic flamenco dance techniques in the Osprey theatre. No experience required. After the workshop, enjoy a social hour in the lobby with Spanish tapas appetizers prepared by volunteers and refreshments from Osprey bar. Admission by donation, suggested at $10.
Flamenco Flash Mob on the Waterfront! – July 14, 10:00 AM, Dock Street
Maria Osende, joined by a group of her flamenco students will appear for a quick “flash mob” performance on the waterfront on Saturday morning during the Shelburne Farmers Market. This event will give a quick preview of the stage performance scheduled for later that evening. Catch it if you can!
