10 years ago, beloved Barrington songwriter and performer Lynne Crowell presented a concert at the Osprey entitled Music For Life: My Journey. It was a journey through 50 years of her musical experience, from her mother’s knee to her then-recent induction to the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame.
Crowell began singing in her church choir at the age of 3, and was coached by both mother and grandmother in music technique and presentation. She has explored the genres of spirituals, bluegrass, folk, and country, as well as touring and performing with many different groups. Her earlier accomplishments include being featured on television and radio, as well as producing 5 CDs. She continues to write and perform in her hometown of Barrington, just minutes away from the cottage where she was raised.
This year, we are pleased to welcome Lynne Crowell as she celebrates her 10 year anniversary of this induction to the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame. This local star is a familiar face for many of us, and is returning to present a concert that will appeal to local residents with a home-y sound and a life-long passion for music.
