New Lockeport-based theatre troupe “The Locke’s Island Players” formed in 2017 under the direction of John Fredrick Brown and saw an incredible year of performance and community support. Now in 2018, they are remounting one of their most popular pieces at the Osprey to attract a new following in Shelburne and to honour an important part of Canada’s history on Remembrance Day weekend.
‘Lest We Forget: Letters from the Front Line’ is based on letters and documents from the First World War, telling the story of “the war to end all wars.” Developed and directed by John Frederick Brown, Lest We Forget features letters read and stories told by eight actors as well as a collection of original and period correct music performed by live musicians.
Brown comments, “This war will soon be forgotten by those who have any memory of its momentous effect on the world, so it’s important that the story be told.”
Tickets: $15 adult, $7 student – available soon.
